In ASPiration for Peace

They are all there, present, right beside us. We walk past them without even seeing them, without paying them any attention. As if they were invisible. As if they did not exist. And there we are, carrying on: carrying on destroying each other, carrying on destroying ourselves, carrying on destroying everything. Then, just at that moment, as if we could truly listen to this silence, listen and hear nothing, as we so often do, as we always do, to persuade ourselves that we are in the right, that we hold the truth, that all of this is only a trap, that all of this seems a comedy so brilliantly played, so well performed that we fall into it and sink: we lend our ear, we refine the sound, we even take the time to sit down as if in the front row of this magnificent theatre, and we savour. We begin to sense, we begin to feel each little spark that comes to touch us carefully, to wake us calmly, to wrap us in this feeling of delight, to cover us entirely to the very tips of our hair, finally allowing us to taste Peace. The bombings stop, the children stop running and at last embrace in a joyful round. No more cries, no more tears. Simply Peace flooding our hearts, flooding their hearts. Peace washing over us.
